|DEFINITION: Under the direction of the LAEC Board of Directors, the President of the Council is responsible for the leadership and operations management of the Longmont Area Economic Council (a 501c6 Non Profit) and is the primary point of contact for Longmont primary employers and business recruitment activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Enhance the economic well-being of Longmont by actively supporting the creation and preservation of quality primary jobs. Utilize skills in a variety of areas to support and enhance the Longmont community. Develop primary income sources and jobs for Longmont citizens, raise the average family income levels, diversify and expand tax base and help to improve the quality of life. Engage in a collaborative environment that exists between the LAEC, the City of Longmont, and other local and regional economic partners throughout the State
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in a standard office environment. Occasional lifting may exceed 30 pounds, routinely lifting up to 15 pounds. Work requires local travel, considerable stress as a consequence of time constraints and normal stress from an executive level position. Position involves concurrent complex tasks, frequent interruptions, persuasive discussions, and a frequently nontraditional work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business or related areas. Master’s degree in business or related areas, a plus. 10 or more years working experience in sales, marketing, economic development. Public Relations or other customer facing role in the public and/or private sector. 5 or more years of leadership experience. 5 or more years managing teams. Results Orientated. Strong Business Acumen. Creative Problem Solver. Superior Communication skills (verbal and written) Experience as Site Selector, Urban Planner or Corporate Real Estate/Land Management.
