|SEASONAL LANDSCAPE/GROUNDS WORKER, UNION RESERVOIR 13-0085: $8-$12/HR DOQ. SCHEDULES VARIED, SUN-SAT 6 AM – 9 PM, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS REQUIRED. Assigned hours and days of work are weather-dependent. The City of Longmont has Seasonal Status for unemployment benefit purposes for workers in this position. Per regulations of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, a position designated as having Seasonal Status does not entitle workers in the position to unemployment benefits. Work in this position will be available only during the period beginning at the earliest April 8, 2013 and lasting no longer than October 4, 2013.
|DEFINITION: Receives supervision from the Parks/Open Space Ranger and daily supervision from the Senior Park Rangers, and/or management & supervisory staff in the natural Resources Division. Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to equipment operation, grounds maintenance, construction and repair of Union Reservoir and associated facilities. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Operate a variety of equipment used in the maintenance of parks and open space. Participate in a variety of assigned maintenance duties on parks and facilities including repair and installation of irrigation sprinkler heads, lines, and controllers. Perform equipment repair, adjustments, and lubrication. Clean shelters and restrooms regularly and perform plumbing repairs as needed. Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and landscaped areas. Maintain grounds for buildings and parking lots. Work as a member of a crew. Assist with boat inspections for aquatic nuisance species.
