| DEFINITION: Receives general supervision from the Parks/Open Space Ranger, management and/or supervisory staff assigned by the Natural Resources Division. Provides on-site representation for the City to ensure the security, health and safety of visitors at a water based recreational facility. Patrol Union Reservoir, District Parks and City owned Open Space as required. Perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of these properties. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Patrol Union Reservoir and other City property as assigned by vehicle, foot, bike or boat to ensure visitor safety, resource protection and to enforce ordinances. Enforce rules and regulations of the reservoir and City owned property and issue warnings and municipal summonses as required. Help with visitor problems and provide other assistance and information as necessary. Perform computer data entry, record keeping and report writing. Greet visitors, provide instructions and collect fees at the front gate. Make daily bank deposits and report attendance figures. Maintain and repair reservoir facilities including buildings, picnic areas, restrooms, fences, ditches, rangelands, trails, roads and boat dock by performing a variety of carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry and other semi-skilled duties. Pick up litter and refuse, trim and cut down hazardous or diseased trees. Inspect boats for aquatic nuisance species. Perform boat rescues as needed.
