|The City of Longmont has Seasonal Status for unemployment benefit purposes for workers in this position. Per regulations of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, a position designated as having Seasonal Status does not entitle workers in the position to unemployment benefits. Work in this position will be available only during the period beginning at the earliest April 8, 2013 and lasting no longer than October 4, 2013.
DEFINITION: Receives general supervision from the Parks/Open Space Ranger, Park Rangers and additional direction may come from management and/or supervisory staff in the Natural Resources Division and subdivision. Collects revenue, operates cash register, sells seasonal and daily passes, maintains attendance records for facility, greets patrons, answers questions in person and by telephone, and handles camping reservations and facility rentals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Courteously and promptly greet and/or direct patrons in person or on the telephone. Handle monetary transactions including daily admissions or passes, camping reservations and facility rentals. Operate and balance cash till, assist in the filing and maintenance of various records and reports such as season passes, activity and cash reports. Facilitate camping registrations and facility rentals and schedule company and group picnics. Assist the public, through knowledgeable and tactful questioning determine customers' needs, answer questions and provide information for all of the reservoir operations. Inventory and sell resale items. Assist patrons or staff in emergency situations. Attend and participate in staff meetings and/or trainings. Maintain a clean and orderly front entrance gate. Observe, follow and enforce established policies and procedures in the daily conduct of the job.
